    • Welcome to my fashion and design E-learning platform

Fashion design is the process of creating ideas for clothing, shoes, and accessories. It involves sketching designs, selecting fabrics and colors, and overseeing the production of garments.

Fashion designers must have skills in drawing, color theory, and understanding trends. They create designs for both haute couture (custom-made luxury fashion) and ready-to-wear clothing.

Key principles of fashion design include balance, proportion, emphasis, and rhythm. Applying these principles creates harmony and unity in a design.

There are many types of fashion design, including apparel for men, women and children, as well as accessories like shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Some designers specialize in costume design for theater, film, and television.

To become a fashion designer, you can earn a 2-year associate's degree in merchandising or a 4-year bachelor's degree in fashion design. Coursework covers topics like fashion illustration, pattern making, computer-aided design, and portfolio preparation.
